Brock is a fifteen year old boy who was forced to take care of his nine siblings after his father left the family and mother soon after passed away. He took over the Pewter City gym after his father left for a job to pay off for his family. The Pokémon League gym regulations are harsh, as three consecutive losses will mean the gym leader will have to resign, as implied in the video games with Saffron City havinbg one former gym, now a fighting dojo, next to the new gym. Brock's true dream is to become a pokémon breeder, as he loves to take care of them. Brock's parental experience makes him a handy companion for Ash and Misty with his cooking skills and being the most prepared out of the group for camping and such.
